Ryan is off at the Broncos game with our neighbor, Ian, right now so I thought I would take a little time to update the blog. It's only 16 degrees outside right now.... and even though it's sunny outside, I am not envious of them to be standing outdoors for four hours. I don't care how many layers you have on, 16 degrees is still DAMN COLD!
Lily is growing so quickly! Lately, she seems to be seeking out any spot she can find in the sun and laying down to sleep. Caesar has always loved sleeping in the sun as well, so it must just be a dog thing! We took her to her first puppy socialization class in Boulder yesterday and she did very well. The trainer that leads the class, Gigi Moss, is amazing and we really enjoyed meeting her and listening to her helpful puppy training tips. There were six other puppies there and the class was an hour long. The puppies had time to play, we were able to ask Gigi questions and we worked on commands with them. Our newest commands that we are teaching her are Sit, Down, Up, Come, Leave It, and House (to go in her kennel). She already knows No pretty well, whether she chooses to listen to it or not! She gets a little sassy sometimes. ;)
Caesar is doing well. Ryan got silly with him on the couch yesterday and wrapped him up in our blanket. He didn't seem to mind it! It's always quite a bit colder on our first floor then our second so he probably enjoyed the extra warmth! He is tolerating Lily more and more... in fact, she's laying against him right now on the couch. Too cute!
We moved the couch in our family room around today to clean underneath it and found 14 hair rubberbands, one hair clip and two cat sparkle ball toys on the floor!!! Madison LOVES to play with my rubberbands so we know she is the culprit. Every time I take one out of my hair and set it on the coffee table, it doesn't take her long to find it and carefully shuffle it off the table with her paw. We had an idea that she was playing with them around the couch, but we had no idea there would be so many under there! Goofy cat! But hey, at least she's entertaining herself!
We are gearing up to drive to Chicago next week. Our plan is to leave early Tuesday morning and make it at least to Des Moines. We have a room at the La Quinta Inn reserved there since they allow dogs. If we can make it all the way to Chicago that day we will, but we're not sure how Lily is going to do being in the car that long, plus it's a long way to drive in one day. We sure do hope that the weather cooperates as they are calling for snow from Denver to Chicago on Tuesday and Wednesday.
We hope that everyone is enjoying the magic that surrounds the holidays!
